Jihyo Cha is a sophomore majoring in Global Affairs at George Mason University Korea Campus. She is deeply interested in engaging in academic environment especially learning new theories and concept on global security policies and issues in Korea. Through the fellowship, she wishes to broaden her knowledge related to her major and academic interests. Ultimately, she hopes to expand her experiences and perspectives about global security issues surrounding our society.
Jimin Cheon is a senior at George Mason University Korea Campus. She majors in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Governance. She also minors in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Her primary academic interests are on North and South Korea relations and North East Asia relations as well as in issues of Korean ‘comfort women’. Through the fellowship, she wants to learn more about the security issues in Korea and expand her knowledge on current international affairs in the East Asia.
Jin Seong Choi is a sophomore majoring in Global Affairs at George Mason University Korea Campus. He is currently working as an intern at the university’s Office of Government Relations to foster the university’s partnership with the government authorities. As a student fellow of CSPS Korea, he aims to learn more about power dynamics between countries and apply the acquired knowledge to issues between North and South Korea..
Haseung Joung is a sophomore at the George Mason University Korea campus. She is majoring in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Governance. Her primary interests are in environmental security and Asia-pacific security. Through this program, she hopes to expand her knowledge in international security issues as well as build analytical skills and critical thinking skills.
Huiyong Kim is a senior majoring in Global Affairs at George Mason University Korea Campus and pursues Global Governance as a concentration. Currently, he is a project assistant for the Global Academy on Conflict Resolution and Sustainable Peace for Korean Unification. His primary interest in international security and policy is issues in East Asia including South and North Korean relationship. Through the fellowship, he plans to develop skills in analyzing and evaluating security strategies.
Chulson Lee is senior at George Mason University Korea Campus, majoring Global Affairs with Global Governance concentration. He is currently working at the Association of the World Election Bodies (A-WEB) as an intern. He is interested in the role of South Korea as a peacemaker to reduce potential security threats in the East Asia. Through the student fellowship, he wishes to look for an opportunity to study and research on various academic theories and relevant security policies.
Heasu Lee is a sophomore at George Mason University Korea Campus. She is pursuing Global Affairs as a major and Conflict Analysis and Resolution as a minor. Her concentration is Global Governance and Media Communication and Culture respectively. Her primary academic interests are South Asian regional security, security-related media, refugee crises, conflict resolution, peacebuilding and soft diplomacy. She hopes to expand her knowledge in security issues and learn how to apply the information to current situations in the Korean Peninsula.
Seong Jae Shin is a Liaison Fellow at Center for Security Policy Studies and a senior completing his B.S. in Conflict Analysis Resolution with a concentration on International Conflicts at George Mason University. He is also completing Global Affairs as a minor. His research interest focuses on international security policies in Middle-East and East Asia.

Ha Eun Choi is a junior at George Mason University. She majors in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Economics and Management and minor in International Security. She is interested in international conflicts and security relations, especially on non-traditional security issues. Her interest focuses on global conflicts and seeking resolution through global governance.
Jin Seong Choi is a junior majoring in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Governance at George Mason University Korea Campus. He is currently serving as a research assistant at the Center for Security Policy Studies – Korea. His research interests includes East Asian regional security as well as inter-Korean relations.
Yihyun Andrea Kwon is a junior studying B.A. Global Affairs with concentrations in Human Security and Global Governance. She is also minoring in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Her current research interests lies in the interconnection of international security policies and human security in the East Asian region, South Korean soft power and diplomacy, and women’s rights in developing countries.
Erie Ma is a senior studying Global Affairs at George Mason University. Her primary interests are human security issues in North Korea and refugees in Korea. Through the fellowship experience at CSPS, she plans to expand her perspectives and experiences in the fields of North Korean human rights, relationships between South and North Korea, education in multicultural society, and Korean peninsula’s future.
