CSPS-Korea Presents: Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation to Republic of Korea

On May 20, Dr. Mark Rozell, Dean of Schar School of Policy and Government lectured on the topic of “The US Presidential Election 2020” at the Ajou University. As a prominent scholar of US government and politics, he gave his own insightful prospects on upcoming Presidential Election.

May 21, Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation to CSPS-Korea visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Andrew Light gave a short speech on the importance of Paris Agreement on climate change. Round-table meeting with the Climate Ambassador Yeonchul Yoo was followed after the presentation. The meeting concluded with mutual agreement on the importance of transboundary cooperation.

On May 21, Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation to CSPS-Korea visited Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and had round-table meeting with the GGGI leadership. Constructive thoughts on climate change and relevant policies were exchanged.

On May 21, Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation met with SNU Graduate School of Public Administration and discussed on possible opportunities of academic exchange and cooperation between George Mason University and Seoul National University.

On May 23, Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation to CSPS-Korea and Robert Matz, Campus Dean of George Mason University Korea visited Incheon City Hall for courtesy call meeting with Jun-ha Park, Vice Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City. It was a meaningful moment that bridged the policy world of US and Korea.

On May 23, Dr. Andrew Light gave a lecture on “Creating, Preserving, and Defending the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.” It was a great opportunity to hear about the US position on the environmental issues and the importance of Paris Agreement on global climate issues from an expert in the field of policymaking.

May 23, Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation to CSPS-Korea visited Korea Coast Guard for a meeting on future cooperation.

May 23, Dr. Andrew Light, Schar School of Policy and Government delegate to CSPS-Korea held a meeting with Green Climate Fund (GCF) to discuss about ongoing and possible environmental projects.

May 23, Schar School of Policy and Government Delegation, the director of CSPS-Korea, and CSPS-Korea Student fellow had a dinner. The dinner was held to introduce the student fellows of CSPS-Korea and to listen to the feedback of the symposium.
